The Vision Junior Medics Conference is an exciting medical school admissions conference for students in years 11 and 12 who are interested in entering the medical profession. The focus of the day is a number of fun practical stations giving you a taste of life as a student and learning about the trials and tribulations of life as a doctor from our inspirational speakers.

Places are £7.50 per person and include lunch, all materials on the day and an information pack.
Places for Outreach schools will be prioritised until Friday 16th November 2018.

Essay Competition

Delegates are invited to write an essay with the following title:
Medical cannabis is becoming an increasingly popular method of treatment used by doctors for treating patients. How is cannabis used in healthcare? (30%)
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of cannabis in medicine, including the issues that may arise from using cannabis in healthcare. (70%)

Deadline – TBC

The maximum of words for this essay is 1000. A maximum of 5 references may be included. Please structure your essay with an introduction and a conclusion. You must attend the ICSM Vision Junior Conference 2018 In order to eligible for a prize. Please email your entry to visioninfo@imperial.ac.uk

Practical Stations

Small group teaching on a number of practical stations to give you a taste of the skills you’ll be learning as a med student.

Tutorials will include using a stethoscope, breath sounds, stroke and neurology, chest X-rays, and clinical communication/history taking.
